CERO Bikes Joins the Fun at the Annual Belgian Waffle Ride
This past Sunday, May 5th, more than 700 riders participated in the 8th annual Belgian Waffle Ride, renowned as one of the hardest, most unique bike events in the country. The grueling 130 mile ride takes place in North San Diego County, traversing through miles of winding paved roads and countless rocky trails, and concluding with a brutal climb that has rightly earned its Hell of the North monicker.
Despite its reputation as a hardcore, strenuous ride, the event organizers know how to keep things fun, kicking off with Belgian waffles at the start of the race and concluding at a brewery for beers and margaritas. 10 miles before the end of the ride and a few pedal strokes before the steepest climb of the race, the Oasis aid station greets riders with the fuel to help them finish: music, water, bananas and snacks, and the secret ingredient: bacon! This year, CERO Bikes joined Wahoo Fitness and Oceanside Bike Fit to help dole out the bacon and motivate the riders on the last trek of their journey.
